On Tuesday, Sainte Geneviève Sports Judo, top of their pool, faced Normandie Judo, who were keen to take revenge on their home turf after a particularly close encounter in the first leg, which saw the Genovéfains win on points (3-3 - 31 to 30 on pts). In a match in which the Normans led 2-0, it was finally the Parisians who prevailed 3-2, after dominating their opponents in the last two bouts. After five wins in as many matches, the Essonniens are assured of finishing top of Pool A. On Wednesday, Judo des Hauts-de-France travelled to Orléans in search of a vital victory to keep their hopes of reaching the quarter-finals alive. In a match dominated by the Orléans team, the visitors came up empty-handed, losing 7-2. As a result, both of the evening's opponents are out of the competition.
In Pool B, the Dojo Béglais welcomed group leaders AM Asnières Judo 92 for their first win of the Judo Pro League 2023. Unfortunately for Les Beglais, the Asnières team once again dominated the match, despite the two bouts won by the locals. Following their 5-2 defeat, the Girondins will have to battle hard in their final against Nantes in the race for second place.
At the same time, Corsica Judo travelled to Auriol, near Marseille, to take on OM Judo. The match was of particular importance, for although Corsica were top of the table, OM Judo were not far behind, eager for revenge after their 5-3 defeat in the first leg. In a clash where both teams had their say, it was the Corsicans who emerged victorious thanks to their points advantage (3-3 - 42-31 on pts), enabling them to validate their ticket to the quarter-finals.
Judo Nice Métropole played host to Montpellier Judo Olympic on the final day of matchday 5, ahead of a final for first place against ES Blanc-Mesnil on the next day. With the home team leading 5-2, a power cut interrupted the match.
