DAY 3 RESULTS

This Tuesday and Wednesday, 5 new matches were on the program for Day 3 of a group phase that has already reached its halfway point. While the leaders of pools B, C and D were rested this week, this day offered several duels that are already crucial for qualification to the quarter-finals.

In Poule A, Normandie Judo had no trouble overcoming their opponents this evening, winning 5-2 in Orléans. The match got off to a poor start for Orléans, who were trailing 2-0 before the break. Despite winning two bouts in the -75kg and +90kg classes, the Loiret judokas were never able to catch up. In the group's other match, Sainte-Geneviève Sports got the better of Judo des Hauts-de-France, outclassing them 8-2.

In Pool B, the Dojo Béglais hosted the Dojo Nantais. Of the two teams in search of their first points, it was the visitors who had the last word, winning the final bout two ippon to nil, enabling them to take the match on points (61 - 52). The Nantes team claimed their first victory in the competition, despite trailing 3-2 in the match.

In a head-to-head battle for 2nd place in Pool C, ES Blanc-Mesnil from the Paris region easily overcame the young Montpellier Judo Olympic team. Trailing 5-0, the Hérault outfit held out to win two bouts, but Blanc-Mesnil eventually prevailed 6-2.

For their part, OM Judo played host to Auxerre Judo in the race to qualify for the quarter-finals in pool D. In a one-sided evening, the Marseille team quickly got going, conceding just a single point to Auxerre as they dominated their opponents 8-1 at home.
