The Judo Pro League continues to gain momentum with two new fixtures on the program this week.
Two matches, four teams and as many stories to follow: between experienced clubs and teams new to competition, this third week promises to be rich in emotion on the tatamis.
Wednesday, October 15 - JC Chilly Mazarin Morangis vs Stade Bordelais
Having narrowly qualified for the quarter-finals last season, the JC Chilly Mazarin Morangis (JCCMM) is back on the Judo Pro League scene. The Essonne-based team has opted for continuity, relying on the stability of a close-knit, experienced collective. This first home meeting will mark the start of a new campaign in which the club will be aiming for a more comfortable qualification while confirming its place among the league's regular teams.
Opposite him, the Stade Bordelais will be experiencing its grand premiere. A newcomer to the competition, the club from Gironde has fielded a squad mostly made up of judokas who are also new to the Judo Pro League. This debut will be a real-life test for the Bordeaux team, who are keen to put themselves to the test against a seasoned outfit.
Thursday, October 16 - Venelles Judo 13 vs Flam 91
It's Venellesin the Bouches-du-Rhône region, where the second meeting of the week will take place. Visit Venelles Judo 13another newcomer to this edition, will be making his debut against one of the league's big guns, Flam 91. With the support of their fans, the Provençal club are hoping to spring a surprise and kick-start their season on a positive note. An opening win could already open the door to the quarter-finals, before a tough schedule against Dojo Béglaisat RSC Montreuil and theUS Orleans Judo Loiret.
Opposite, the Flam 91 presents itself with assertive ambitions. Quarter-finalists last year, the club from Louis Masy is now targeting the Final Four. The recruitment of Luka Mkheidzean Olympic medallist in Tokyo, adds an extra dimension to an already solid and homogeneous squad. With this important reinforcement, Flam 91 enters the season as one of the favourites.
