Introducing Flam 91

FLAM 91 has been a fixture on the French judo scene for several decades, and is now one of the leading clubs at the highest level. Founded in 1978 as the "Association du Judo de l'Orge", renamed AJ91 Longjumeau Massy in 2008 and FLAM 91 in 2012, the Essonne-based club is about to compete in its third Judo Pro League in four editions. A competition they know well: they won the very first one under the Paris-Saclay Judo banner, in collaboration with JC Chilly-Mazarin Morangis.

With over 1,100 members spread across Longjumeau, Massy and Draveil, FLAM 91 combines popular roots with sporting ambition. The arrival this season of Olympic medallist Luka Mkheidze strengthens a team already led by four-time European champion and Olympic medallist Shirine Boukli. Behind these headliners, a generation of promising junior girls confirms the vitality of the club, finalists in the last French championship with one of the youngest teams in the field.

As sporting director, Louis Masy relies on a committed technical team to maintain the balance between training and performance. Our aim is threefold," he explains, "to aim for performance, continue to nurture our youngsters and go in search of European qualification."

With its mix of established champions and home-grown young talent, FLAM 91 continues to build on its success. French men's team champions in 2021 and finalists in the women's category in 2024, the club intends to remain a benchmark for French judo.
