One week after its resumption, the Judo Pro League made its return this Tuesday and Wednesday with five new matches. Resting last week, Auxerre, Montpellier and Nantes made their debuts in this 2023 edition; a mixed start, as none of them were able to win. And yet, for their first-ever meeting in the Judo Pro League, the Burgundy team came within a waza ari of drawing with Corsica Judo. Leading 3-2 and 41-31 on points scored going into the final bout, Auxerre's judokas saw Adrien Geoffroy score waza ari to bring them back to 3-3 (and 32-41 on points scored) in the final bout. Another waza ari would have earned the Burgundians the extra 9 points, but it never came. For Montpellier Judo Olympic and Dojo Nantais, the suspense was shorter. Despite close encounters, the two teams were outclassed respectively by Judo Nice M\u00e9tropole (1-5) and AM Asni\u00e8res (1-8), who, after their victory over Dojo B\u00e9glais last week, are once again striking a blow in Pool B.<\/p>\n

To find suspense, you had to be in Sainte Genevi\u00e8ve (91)! For their favorite team's home debut in the Judo Pro League, the Genovese crowd couldn't have dreamed of anything better. Faced with a conquering Normandie Judo team, they first broke out in a cold sweat before exulting over C\u00e9dric Olivar's victory in the last bout, when a final waza-ari enabled SGS Judo to come back to 3-3 and go ahead by a tiny point overall (31-30!). With this 2nd victory, SGS takes sole possession of the lead in Poule A. In the other match in this pool, Judo des Hauts-de-France claimed the first victory in their history by beating US Orl\u00e9ans Judo Loiret (6-3).<\/p>\n
